In a past that is dim for most and unknown to many, women had little control over their reproductive lives. The mores of the time dictated that there was no having a baby without a husband, and if you were married the babies just came. Abortion was illegal and dangerous, but women opted for it anyway. Young or mature, single or married, women were often forced into situations we can barely understand today. The Telling Collection relives the fear, desperation, and uncertainty women faced and the trials they endured. These are the stories our mothers, grandmothers, and aunties kept to themselves.
