Synopsis

In this episode of “Seekers of the Supernatural”, the Warrens, with host, Tony Spera, and guest, Mr. John Zaffis, the viewer enjoys a much focus than most other episodes. In this installment, what can be called spirits of the woods are discussed, including fairies, gnomes, and others. The Warrens share with the viewer their experiences in Scotland and not too far from their home in Connecticut, in Granville State Forest, in western Massachusetts. First the Warrens take us to Scotland and what can be called the mystical isles. They relate the story of the Fairy Bridge near Dunvegan Castle. The Fairy Bridge has a classic story in Scottish folklore of a Lord of the McCloud family married a fairy, one of the wee people. Eventually the two had to part and did so on Fairy Bridge. Upon parting, the fairy gave Lord McCloud a flag, telling him that thrice it may flown in the castle in times of need, and thrice the fairies would save the castle. Ed notes it has been saved twice thus far. Lorraine recounts how she was able to discern the encounter of the lord and the fairy from a distance. She saw something being passed between the two but could not make it out while she also sensed, for some reason, the presence of flax. Later while giving a presentation to a group at Norwich University, a member of the audience clarified that the flag given by the fairy had been made of flax. Watch as the Warrens’ share their many images of the area while discussing the magic of fairies. Just as they prefer all boundaries, such as twilight, midnight, and so forth, the fairies prefer borderline states of mind and are more likely to make contact when in such a state. Hear as Ed shares his first encounter the fairy world as about age eleven and how at age eight he was invited in to a gnome’s residence, seeing how they lived. See first-hand the little green hat with very interesting symbols on it that Ed found on a peak in Granville State Forest, and still has in this video. Enjoy a change of pace with Ed and Lorraine Warren as they tell of the beautiful side of the supernatural.
