This is the memoir of Annie Stevens and her life growing up in Southern California set in the 1960s. With an alcoholic father and a mother who didnt want children, Annie, a product of a failed abortion, struggled with her siblings to find love, compassion, and purpose in a home that displayed none of that. Physical and mental abuse was the daily reality, so suicide became the focus for Annie at age 14, but God had other plans. Her journey takes her and her son to Northern California where Annie learns to drive a tow truck to support themselves for 8 years.
